2015 HB 964 Proposes to add a, “Snack Tax”

2015 HB 964 Proposes to add a, "Snack Tax"

2015 MD HB 964, sponsored by Delegate Walker, proposes to add snack foods to the list of items on which consumers pay state sales tax.  Added to the sales tax list are these items, or combination thereof:

  • Potato chips and sticks
  • Corn chips
  • Pretzels
  • Cheese puffs and curls
  • Pork rinds
  • Extruded pretzels and chips
  • Popped popcorn

In the House, hearing 3/3/15 at 1:00 p.m.
